One of the plastic cable coverings was cracked and split down the middle. When I received this product, it was broken. The shelves are sturdy enough for smaller things, but large stereo components do not fit, and are too heavy for the glass.
For the money I have NEVER seen a better one. Be carefull putting them on as they WILL break if forced. The only complaint I have is that the plastic covers that hide the wires are fragile. I'de buy it again. The mount worked out great for me. Very sturdy unit that is good looking and well made. The directions where tough, but not impossible.
I had a bundle of wires at the bottom and had to put my sub woofer under the bottom shelf to hide the wires. If I had this would have been perfect but then again would I need a wire management system.As far as having nice shelves it is okay, hiding wires without them being in the wall is better than nothing but do not expect not to see ANY wires. There are 3 pieces. I followed the directions and the shelving system went up just as promised. After you get that part up you have to put the covers on. I aslo could not get the RCA jack (3 cords wide) to fit behind it.
I did not fish any wires in the wall. The shelves are sturdy however my surround sound system is a little too large for it. The core of the system is very secure to the wall. I could not figure out how you are supposed to get the wires through it to each shelf. My DISH satellite box barely fits on the shelf. Okay I thought I was going to put this shelving system up and then have a great looking set up.
Okay so now I have the shelf up and have to add the components. Yes it looks neater but I was expecting it to hide the cords a little better.
Looks great. If minimalistic is your style then this is the product for you. Works wonderfully with the decor.
hiding of cables still leaves a little to be desired. nice looking unit, pretty easy to assemble, although the instructions are a little vague. overall i would say it is definitely worth the price here on amazon, however, probably not worth the $199 retail price you will find it selling for in regular stores.
